Alright, that is a pretty prestigous list, isn’t it? I am going to admit my bias very clearly here. I cannot stand Hollywood or any famous person that is famous for the sake of being famous. I deeply respect people who are famous because of their intelligence, views, and maybe even skill. Actors, I do not respect. The only skill that most actors have is that of deception and I believe many car salepersons could put most Hollywood actors to shame. That said, why did I post such a prestigious list of select deceivers?
This list is just a few of the 85 Hollywood personalities that have “condemned terrorism” by selecting terrorist organizations such as Hamas and the Hezbollah. The best quote from the bunch is “If we do not succeed in stopping terrorism around the world, chaos will rule and innocent people will continue to die.” Hmmm… I wonder if any of those folks could define for me what a terrorist is. What is the line drawn between a terrorist and a non-terrorist? The group of Hollywood personalities furthers their lack of discernment by stating “We need to support democratic societies and stop terrorism at all costs” without noting that Hamas defeated the Fatah party in democratic elections.
“Another Day in the Empire” stresses on the relative ignorance of people who have no knowledge of the situation in the Middle East. I doubt any of those actors could even find Lebanon on a map before this war. Essentially, these actors are simply playing politics with the lives of innocents. Frankly, I couldn’t give a shit what Nicole Kidman thinks about world affairs. If these actors want to actually make a difference, take up the practice of visiting the places you speak about first, God knows they have the money. Who knows, maybe Kidman might pull an Angelina Jolie and adopt some Lebanese child that her support of Israel just orphaned. You don’t need to have a degree to have opinions, but nor should you be allowed to play politics with innocent lives because the masses of movie-goers think you are pretty enough to be awarded $20,000,000 per film.

Oh well ! As you said, actors are not very intellectually powerful people and the nature of their skill is in pretending. Millions of people could have the ability to be amazing actors if given a chance. Not too many people could be amazing physicists or just great teachers.
The fact that a huge part of the US population drools in front of those morons and have never heard of Gore Vidal, Naomi Klein, Chomsky or Ginsberg leaves me totally flabbergasted. When I think that behaviors and cultural traits are defined and shaped by those high school drop outs who have absolutely nothing to say and are drowning in conforminsm without one once of real originality, I feel like isolating myself form the rest mankind.

OK I started ranting about Hollywood but I’m going to change my tack because everybody is useful. Hope people are reading this. If you have things behind your doorposts as a reminder of possible self-blaming implication in deaths, you will tend to make all your decisions in life (represented by walking through doorways) as dependent on finding out whether it really was your fault. It’s a terrible way to live. Together with this goes a loss of productivity, therefore needing to steal other people’s work (known Biblically as wolves in sheep’s clothing, or self-hypnotising while listening to others so as to be able to learn their scripts and repeat verbatim; the self-hypnotism comes from guilt that inhibits expressions of anger; the alleged payoff is an increased ability to detect “other” fraudsters, hence self-righteousness, self-disbelief… the cycle continues) and giving grain back to the earth or ancestors instead of eating it. It’s a vicious cycle. This is why Marie Antoinette said, “let them eat cake”, I think. Grain offerings tend to get made after the death of good people, and children can get sacrificed or left on mountains Spartan-style in these penance efforts as well. The mountains could also symbolically be “endless genealogies” (1 Timothy 1:4), hence being handed from one family to another, based on alleged performance and status. Meanwhile, my children are still missing. I was raped young by a doctor and various other things and my children have been “rescued” by various Hollywoodites from a loving, hateful (I can’t stand child “adopters”) mother – me. I’m not really hateful. I’m just never going to get back my children’s growing up years, and it REALLY gets to me that nobody’s apologising to the Australian Aboriginals or the people like Brangelina’s new baby’s mother. Does anybody know where Caitlin, Jonte, Michael, Trevor etc. are?

Hollywood goes both ways. There are quite a few anti-Israel personalities who are high school drop outs. I agree that if you are not informed about the Middle East, you have no business sticking your nose in it; however, you (the person who made the site) have also demonstrated a clear lack of understanding of Middle East politics and International Law.
To begin with, Hamas and Hezbollah are considered terrorists by almost every single democracy in the world, not just our own flawed United States. These groups go out of their way to target civilians and have it in their charters to destroy Israel. Israel, by contrast, does not target civilians. Hamas has admitted to using its own population as human shields, same with Hezbollah.
Which brings me to international law. According to established laws and agreements, civilian deaths are to be blamed on the people who put them in harm’s way, not the people who physicaly killed them.
Who would be to blame for the following scenario?: A bank robber takes a hostage as a human shield and shoots at cops. In the course of returning fire, the human shield is killed. Well, under the laws of every single democracy, the bank robber is guilty of first degree murder, not the cops who defended themselves.
International law is the same way. When Hamas uses Gaza’s civilian population as human shields they are guilty of murdering the innocent, not Israel, who under article 51 of the UN charter, has the right to self defense against “armed attacks”.
Ben, you say that Israel does not target civilians, perhaps this is true to the extent that they have no charter or policy or otherwise which states that civilians should be a target, since to do so would be against fundamental human rights and, God forbid Israel should be seen to be outrightly infringing upon such rights or unlawfully killing innocent people. But just because it doesnt form part of any ‘policy’ of Israel does not mean that they never resort to targetting civilians, and certainly if you refer carefully to incidents in the past (without going through media routes which can be very pro-Israel, mainly Western media) it is clear to see that Israel has in the past and still does target innocent civilians. It is just that unfortunately we are often shielded from this reality by a very covert and pro-Israeli backed media.
It’s amazing how you say that you respect people for their “intelligence, views, and maybe even skill”. the reason it’s amaizing is because you lack of knowledge, you display missinformation, your writing suggests total lack of intelligence and it all comes from not knowing the truth. the truth is that actors (the good ones) have more insight and display more sensitivity towards a topic such as this one than you can offer. Wow. The people here claiming that Palestinians are the eternal innocent victims don’t know history from their own distorted lies. You don’t read history books, you just listen to your leaders, whose only goal is to misinform, distort facts, and change history in order to placate your minds and make you more open to the same social system of backwards values, blaming other cultures for your failed economy and culture, and forever clueless victimization. The facts stand and demonstrate time and again that Israel goes out of its way, even to the point of risking its soldiers lives, in order to not kill women, children and innocent civilians. The fact that Hamas and Hizbollah’s aim is to spark international fury over manipulated incidents, shows you they have no qualms over sacrificing their own people as human shields to make Israel look bad. Whether be it by convincing socially rejected people, kids, and mentally ill to bomb themselves, or hiding weapons and firing qassams in civilian areas and from houses. These people have no right to claim victimhood, while aiming at women and children with their rockets and bombs, for years and years. To say that Israel is patient and cautious is an overstatement when we see the evidence before us. Only people living in countries without free media and free speech can be fooled into believing the lies which state otherwise. And those that live in free countries, shame on you!
All you have to do is have a cursory look deeper into the history, details and intents of people in the region to see what is going on. Which people are teaching their children to kill jews, hate them, revel in death and blood (9/11 anyone), teach in books false lies and blood libels, and sacrifice their own people on an altar of human sacrifice (human shields, suicide bombings)? Oh, wait…its the Palestinians! Which people are winning nobel prizes for contributing to the world in science and medicine? Which people invented everything from computer chips to life-saving medicines? Which people have given land for peace time and time again? Which people are besieged, terrorized and hated by people who won’t accept peace? Is it SO hard to understand, Muslims, Palestinians, that your lies won’t last forever. Your misinformation to the rest of the world will only fool the fools for so long. The truth will come out, and you aren’t winning anything.
